During Tofino’s extreme low tides, underwater ocean caves, normally hidden, briefly open, revealing a dazzling gallery of intertidal life. Colourful minerals, algae, and sponges adorn the cave walls, along with intricate patterns etched by bivalves like scallops.

I seek out abstract compositions and photograph the walls up close, capturing the vivid detail of their patterns, colours, and textures. They become abstract paintings created by the ocean and its creatures. Read more.
