At low tide, a thin layer of water left on Chesterman Beach in Tofino transforms the hard-packed sand into a gigantic mirror, perfectly reflecting the sky. I photograph this stunning symmetry in-camera and rotate the horizon into a vertical centerline.

This simple shift breaks our brain’s habit of dismissing familiar scenes, inviting us to pause and see with fresh eyes. Like inkblots, new details emerge, shaped by our unique perspective. The symmetry, like a mandala, fosters inner harmony and a sense of universal connection. Read more.
